A Blind Behavior on Social Media

Teenagers' behavior and thoughts are influenced by social media.  For example, if a friend shows off a designer bag on social media, young adults may find it a cool thing to do and follow suit. For example, they would like to “show off back” so that they request their parents to buy the same one for them without reason. Moreover, if a youtuber uploads a video of controversial behavior which gets a lot of thumbs up, teenagers will copy that behavior and make a similar film. For example, some teenagers copy youtubers’ behavior of performing extreme eating shows on the website. In addition, if a popular friend or celebrity posts a strong opinion on social media, teenagers will accept it right away without a second thought. For example, they will “like” the post and use the hashtag “very much like love.” They may also forward that post to their own social media pages to express that they think in the same way. Social media can influence teenagers easily in both positive and negative ways.
