It is not difficult to make effective Powerpoint slides with the following steps. First, clarify your intention. You need to show your audience what message you want to deliver. Make sure that they can understand your purpose by seeing the information on the sides without too much explanation. This way, all you have to do is highlight a keyword on the title. For example, before starting to make slides, I usually discuss with my boss to define the purpose of the presentation and decide on an agenda first. Second, understand what kind of data you have on hand. Do not show all the data you have as it will confuse the audience. You need to organize data and only present the most important ones which are consistent with your topic. For example, if I want to highlight low training completion rates, I will organize a table with each department’s rate and mark the low rates instead of listing all incomplete personnels on my slides.
